Spravato® Referrals
Refer a Patient for Spravato Evaluation
Brick Psychiatric Services provides evaluation and treatment with SPRAVATO® (esketamine) for appropriate adult patients.
Our team manages the treatment-center component of care, including patient evaluation, insurance review, required monitoring, and coordination with referring clinicians.
When to Consider a Referral
SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved for certain adults with treatment-resistant depression and for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder with acute suicidal ideation or behavior.
A referral does not guarantee treatment. Each patient undergoes an individual clinical evaluation to determine whether SPRAVATO® is appropriate.
What to Send With Your Referral
Please provide the following when available:
Patient demographics and contact information
Insurance information
Current psychiatric diagnosis
Current medications
Previous antidepressant and psychiatric medication trials
Treatment response and reasons for discontinuation, when known
Relevant psychiatric records
Pertinent medical history
Complete medication and previous-treatment information can help our team complete benefits investigation and insurance authorization requirements.
What Happens After Referral?
1. We contact the patient.
Our team will assist the patient with registration and obtain any additional information needed.
2. We review insurance benefits and authorization requirements.
Our staff will determine coverage requirements and gather the documentation necessary for prior authorization when applicable.
3. The patient is evaluated.
A Brick Psychiatric Services provider will assess the patient's clinical history and determine whether SPRAVATO® is an appropriate treatment option.
4. Treatment is scheduled when appropriate.
SPRAVATO® is administered in a certified healthcare setting under required supervision and monitoring.
5. We coordinate with the referring provider.
With appropriate patient authorization, we can provide relevant treatment updates and work collaboratively with the patient's established clinician.
You May Continue Managing Your Patient
You do not have to transfer a patient's ongoing psychiatric care to Brick Psychiatric Services simply because you are referring them for SPRAVATO®.
Patients may continue regular follow-up with their established psychiatrist or other treating clinician while receiving SPRAVATO® through our treatment center, when clinically appropriate.
Our goal is to complement the patient's existing treatment relationship and support continuity of care.
